Activities of a technical nature, on subjects relevant to radio amateurs, are conducted at the clubhouse and/or on Zoom on the fourth Wednesday evening of each month. These typically last 1 to 2 hours and have educational, sometimes hands-on content.  Non-members are welcome to participate.

Here's a partial list of subjects that have been addressed in the past:

  • How to get started in amateur radio
  • How Cable TV systems work
  • Field Day operating
  • Antenna modeling and simple antenna designs
  • Propagation
  • POTA, SOTA and QRP operating and equipment
  • Rig/computer interfacing
  • Evaluating RF exposure
  • Vintage radio set assembly considerations

Sessions without a specific program are characterized as Show'N'Tell and Technical Roundtable, where participants describe equipment they use or have constructed, projects they are engaged in or planning, and questions they have about amateur equipment and operating.
