The Salmon Run is Washington State's QSO-party-like radiosport contest held every year in September, sponsored by the Western Washington DX Club.

A FUNDRAISER EVENT

Radio Club of Tacoma participates in Salmon Run and holds a fundraiser event each year in conjunction with this activity. Pledges by club members are often a dollar amount multiplied by the total number of Washington counties worked by the Club's station W7DK during the contest period.

Some members venture out to make contacts from other Washington counties by operating portable expedition stations or mobile rover stations.  Others come by the Clubhouse to help with the fundraiser festivities or maybe grab the microphone or CW key to make some contacts on the air. The more experienced hams love to crank up the power, log contacts at an extremely rapid pace, and dazzle visitors with their operating skills.

THE 2023 EFFORT

This year, we plan to operate MO2T (multi-op, 2 transmitters).  One desk will host our new IC-7610 radio.

The fun begins at 1600Z (0900 PDT) on Saturday September 16.  We'll operate until the overnight break (will we make it to midnight?), then we'll start again at 0900 PDT Sunday.

Please consider joining us -- get in some time on the air, search and pounce or call CQ and run a pileup, it's great fun!  For more information about operations, contact Adam This email address is being protected from spambots.
