AMATEUR RADIO LICENSE EXAMS The Radio Club of Tacoma has an ARRL affiliated team of Volunteer Examiners which offers testing for Amateur Radio Licenses on a regular basis. |

FCC HAS ELIMINATED MORSE CODE TESTING as of 2/23/07...
Amateur Radio FCC Element 2 (Technician Class), Element 3 (General Class), and Element 4 (Extra Class) testing commences on the SECOND TUESDAY of each month at the Radio Club of Tacoma Clubhouse located at 1249 S Washington in Tacoma, Washington. Click here for MAP.
Testing begins at 7:00 PM. Please arrive early. No appointment is necessary.
Please bring:
A pen and pencil
A government issued ID that shows a photo of the applicant. If you are a student without a photo ID, then two pieces of other ID is required- such as a school ID card, library card, SS card.
Your original amateur radio license (if licensed and upgrading)
Your original Certificate of Successful Completion of Amateur License Exams
A calculator if needed (with the memory clear)
Starting 1/1/2009... the fee for examinations is $15.00. Checks and cash are accepted. If you fail the test and feel confident that you can pass on the second try... then you may request a retest for an additional $15.00. Only one retest is allowed per monthly test session.
