The Mighty DK

Over it's history, the Radio Club of Tacoma has seen periods of intense, highly competitive interest in contesting.  Our present contest style is more about providing on-the-air experience for newer operators than it is about racking up the highest possible score.  Our equipment is first-rate, and our antenna farm is pretty good for the space available on a city lot.  Sometimes, we make a noise.

Upcoming contest plans

K3Y (not really a contest, but an operating event sponsored by Straight Key Century Club)

The W7OS Museum station will operate as K3Y/7 this year during the following shifts:

Tuesday 1/08:  20:00 - 22:00z (starting at noon, for 2 hours)
Tuesday 1/15:  23:00 - 01:59z (starting at 3PM, for 3 hours)
Tuesday 1/22:  19:00 - 22:00z (starting at 11AM, for 3 hours)
Tuesday 1/29:  23:00 - 01:59z (starting at 3PM, for 3 hours)

Would you like to be one of the operators calling CQ as K3Y/7 and maybe find yourself at the bottom of a modest pile-up?  Please contact Al, This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. .

Classic radios are fun to operate in contests too.  And some contests are specifically designed for classic radios.  Look for Museum stations on the air during Straight Key Night, Classic Exchange, and other contests.
