An annual Awards Banquet for members and their guests is held every December. The Awards Banquet is always an enjoyable social event, as well as an opportunity to publicly recognize and express appreciation for those members who have helped to advance the purposes of the Club.
2024 AWARDS BANQUET
This year more than 50 folks showed up on Sunday December 8, at the Collins Grange, 3404 120th St E, just off of Waller Road, for socializing, good food, award presentations and door prizes. It was pretty much a full house.
Doors opened at noon, and feasting began around 12:30pm. Nic Adonis KK7HMZ entertained us with Christmas jazz saxaphone stylings while the food was being set out.
And the food, it must be said, was outstanding. In addition to a ham brought by chef Paul Matney W7PFU, we were treated to smoked turkeys from Dave Ashley W7GEL. And there were many yummy sides and desserts. Notable among these were 3 kinds of sweet potatoes, sausages stewed in sourcrout, and spaghetti.
Interruptions in internet service prevented continuous Zoom meeting participation, but our connection at least managed to stay up during the Award ceremony.
Here is this year's Awards booklet.
This year's Doc Spike Inspirational Award honors Manny Adonis AD7MA. The President's award went to Mike Isakson W7XH. A half dozen door prizes were won by various attendees. And incoming president Adam Barbera W2NCC handed out "Clean Sweep" glasses provided to the club by the Western Washington DX Club in recognition of the W7DK operators that achieved said sweep during this year's Salmon Run.
Recognition Programs are described in the Standing Rules, as updated from time to time by the Board of Directors. Two of these annual awards are summarized below:
