POTA Operations
Our club schedules portable operations throughout at state parks so club members and guests can participate in the popular Parks On The Air program as an activator. Our POTA activations are a fantastic event where we learn from each other, share ideas for portable operations, and mostly have fun playing radio and talking ham!
Club members can participate in club-sponsored POTA activities in two ways:
- Operate on the air as an "activator" at the park
- Contact W7DK as a "hunter" on the day of the event
All club members and their guests are invited to club POTA activations. You don't have to have a portable radio to come out and participate.
(At Washington State parks, attendees need a Discovery Pass or may purchase a Day Pass at the park entrance.)
Planned Radio Club of Tacoma POTA activations
Our club POTA activations are focused on learning about portable operations, tuning antennas, and different modes while sharing camaraderie and having FUN! Making a few QSOs is an added bonus!
