OFFICERS AND BOARD MEMBERS ARE ELECTED AT THE NOVEMBER ANNUAL MEETING, WHICH IS SCHEDULED TO BEGIN PROMPTLY AT 1:00 PM ON THE SECOND SATURDAY OF NOVEMBER.
PROCESS FOR NOMINATING AND ELECTING CLUB OFFICERS AND DIRECTORS:
- A nine-member Board of Directors is comprised of four Officers and five Directors.
- Term of office is two years commencing on January 1.
- President, Treasurer, and two Directors at large are elected in even years (2022, 2024, etc.)
- Vice President, Secretary, and three Directors at large are elected in odd years (2023, 2025, etc.)
- Bylaws describe roles and responsibilities of each position.
- Note - a "regular" meeting is normally the first general membership meeting of the month.
- The President appoints a Nominating Committee on or before the regular August meeting.
- Requirements for nomination:
- Officers - must be a club member in good standing for at least two years.
- Directors - must be a club member in good standing for at least one year.
- If you wish to be nominated, you can:
- Let a member of the Nominating Committee know you wish to be nominated, or
- Accept a nomination from another member at the September or October regular meeting, or
- Nominate yourself from the floor at the September or October regular meeting.
- The Nominating Committee:
- is expected to nominate at least one candidate for each open position, and
- presents their nominees to the Club at the September regular meeting.
- The President appoints an Election Committee during the October regular meeting at the conclusion of nominations from the floor.
- Election Committee members may not be candidates for election.
- Election Committee prepares, distributes, and collects all ballots.
- Elections are held by secret written ballot.
- Ballots must be mailed out to all voting members in good standing on or before October 20.
- Ballots must be returned by mail postmarked no later than November 5 or personally delivered to the Secretary prior to the start of the November annual meeting.
- Only original ballot documents are accepted; no voting by proxy.
- IMPORTANT -- Voting is closed when the gavel strikes at the opening of the November annual meeting.
- Election Committee accumulates and tallies all ballots and announces the results of voting.
- A majority of all votes cast is necessary to elect an Officer.
- Directors at large are elected by a plurality.
