Our club schedules portable operations at state parks. Club activations are open for anyone to come and participate in the popular Parks On The Air program as an activator.

You can participate in club POTA activities in two ways:

  1. Operate on the air as an "activator" at the park
  2. Contact W7DK as a "hunter" on the day of the event

You don't have to have a portable radio to come out and participate. To join in the POTA activation fun with the Radio Club of Tacoma! All you need is...

  1. An account with Parks on the Air (click here for instructions on how to join POTA)
  2. A Discover Pass for Washington State Parks (or you can purchase a day pass at the park)

We encourage everyone to Get On The Air! For new POTA activators and new operators we've put together a crib sheet outlining bands, and simple exchanges for POTA contacts. The W7DK POTA team will have copies of this crib sheet at each club activation for easy reference.
